

Ira Bristow, age 89, of Tyler passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Ira was born on May 23, 1921 in LaRue, Texas to George and Florence Nichodemus Bristow. On March 23, 1946 Ira married Martha Smith in Athens, Texas.
Ira served his country in the US Army during World War II. He was an Assembly of God pastor and retired from LeTourneau Industries as a welder.
Ira is survived by his son Glenn Bristow and his wife Peggy of Longview, daughters Martha Pope and Mike Bailey of Van, Sharon Folmar and husband Jimmy of Longview, grandsons Jason Folmar and his wife Lorrie of Ft. Richardson, Alaska, Joseph Folmar of Ft. Carson, Colorado, Michael Pope of Flint, Texas, granddaughter Shannon Lindsay and husband Joey of Longview, 3 great grandchildren, sister Bertha Fitzgerald of Athens, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Smith Bristow, 3 brothers Bruce Bristow, Robert Bristow, and Jimmy Bristow, 3 sisters Ethel Coleman, Mae Quick, and Ann Malone.
Graveside services for Ira will be Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Rev. G.H. Stanfield officiating. Visitation will be Friday, November 12, 2010 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Lakeview Funeral Home.
