James Edward Allen

Jim, as he was affectionately known, married his beloved Linda Aune Allen on December 30, 2005, and finished his full life residing in Hallsville, Texas. He was devoted to his bonus daughters Rachel Richards and Kristen Phillips (husband Zack Phillips), and a cherished Jaja to his grandchildren Justin Richards, Kent Phillips, Abigail Richards, Bria Phillips, Skye Phillips, Bailey Richards. Jim is also survived by brother, Robert Allen; niece, Lynn Brazell (husband Scott); nephew, Brad Allen (wife Kris); brother inlaws, Jim Aune (wife Terrie), John Aune (wife Janice); sister inlaw, Shelly Tucker (husband Mike); additionally Shelley, Bret, Mandy, Michael, Amy, Jason, David, Katherine, Jace, Hunter, Hayley, Nathan, Lauren, Alyssa, Alexi, Conner. Remarkably, the list of greats and grands continues. Jim is preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Wanda Lello Allen.

Jim lived a life of adventure. He was bold to try his hand at new experiences, and when something piqued his interest, he would pursue it. He was a carpenter, rancher, entrepreneur, pool hall owner, salesman, fisherman, investor, collector, cook, treasure hunter, and he enjoyed traveling with his wife. He was proud of his Polish heritage and delighted in sharing stories of his childhood upbringing in Wisconsin. Most recently, Jim made friends at JOY Ministry fellowships with First Baptist Church in Hallsville as well as participated in East Texas Alzheimer’s Alliance Hope & Help at Mobberly Baptist Church with his best friend Jan. He was loved by many and built relationships with everyone he encountered. If he were to do a task as monotonous as paying a water bill, he would be sure to walk that bill in and have face to face interaction while engaging in conversation. Jim’s smile was genuine, and he had the most beautiful blue eyes of kindness.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, December 29, 2025 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Longview. The family will receive friends in the parish hall from 10:00 am until the time of service.
