Mr. Bullard was born May 23, 1925, in Wray, Colorado, to Stephen Fenner and Zadie Hadlock Bullard, and passed away July 15, 2018 in Tyler, Texas.
Roy proudly served his country as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1950 and received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
Throughout his career he worked for such companies as Douglas Aircraft Co., Boeing Aircraft, American Airlines and upon the appearance of Sputnik, he applied and was offered a position with NASA and worked on various projects such as the Lunar Module and was involved with the Lunar Landing Missions.
He moved to Mineola, Texas with wife Linda in 1993.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Phyllis Bullard Voltmann and son, Mark Alan Bullard.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Linda Bullard of Mineola, Texas, son, Brent Jay Bullard and fiancé Charlotte Green, of Kilgore, Texas, daughter, Betsy Ann Hammack, of Kilgore, Texas, Mary Lynn Bullard of White Oak, Texas, Melanie Ann Whitton and husband, Wesley of Longview, Texas, Holly Anna Etchelecu and fiancé, Tim Voight of Dallas, Texas, and Owen Anson Berry of Longview, Texas, brother Wayne Bullard and wife Pauline of Denver, Colorado, as well as Ten grandchildren and Seven great grandchildren and one on the way.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Smith Chapel United Methodist Church at PO Box 519, Mineola, TX 75773 or Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, TX 75701
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8 PM, Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Lakeview Funeral Home.
