James "Huston" Hodges

He was born on May 26, 1931 in Antioch, Arkansas into a very large and loving family. James Huston was the last of 21 children in the Hodges family. He was a hard worker and loved to do woodworking and general “piddling” as he would say. He was a loving and giving son, brother, husband, father, poppa and uncle. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.

James Huston is preceded in death by his parents and 20 siblings; his first wife and mother of his children, Ima Jean Williams Hodges. Second wife Mary McDaniel Tyler Hodges, Daughter Diane Elizabeth Hodges Cooper, Son James Allen Hodges, son Larry Hodges.

He leaves behind a daughter, Janet Hodges Phillips and her husband Hank and daughter Jennifer; a son Garry Lee Hodges and wife Shelly Hodges; and numerous Grand, Great Grand, Great Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Saturday, February 1st at 1:00 PM with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 5000 W. Harrison Rd, Longview, TX 75064 with a reception and light snacks after. The family will do a private graveside later.

The family would like to thank the numerous caregivers that helped with his final days being at home. Also, the many wonderful family, friends and coworkers that have been here for them and continue to support them.
