Jerry Russell Miller, 50, passed away July 7, 2019 in Longview. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Lakeview Funeral Home in Longview. Jerry Russell Miller was born December 9, 1968 in Carthage, Mississippi to Aubrey Banes and Sue Curtis. “Bubba” as he was known to his friends and family, loved riding motorcycles and hunting and fishing. He loved having people over for cook outs and spending time with family and friends. Bubba may have seemed rough and tough on the outside, but he was a softie on the inside and would do anything for his family. They were his pride and joy and he enjoyed time with family more than anything. Bubba will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother and father; and a brother, Curtis Banes. He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Miller; son, Chance Miller; daughter, Autumn Miller; step-son, Kaleb Frazier; sister, Lynn Paddie (Joe); and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other loving family members and friends.

Mr. Jerry was such a kind and caring man. After my mom passed and my dad had to work he allowed me to stay at his house in the mornings until the bus came every morning and every afternoon until my dad got off work and could pick me up. I will never forget him and I’m so grateful to have met such a nice person.

Mr. Jerry was there for me for 9 years. I was really little and you help me take my shots by holding me in your hugs and they gave me the shots. I thank you for being there for me and you are always like a dad to me. I thank for having you in my life when I did. I love you so much.

Many times of riding and visiting. At Cherokees funeral Jerry tried to throw in dirt but the rock he threw bounced back out. He tried again and when he did his cellphone fell in by the casket. His phone was retrieved by another brother. Now they can ride the streets of heaven together.

I met Jerry at my nephews funeral, my nephew was Mike Vaughn, Michelle’s Daddy. I liked him from the minute I met him he was genuine, warm and loving! There was no pretense in Jerry he was who he was like him or not it wouldn’t make a difference to him! I loved this man I could see beyond his rough exterior the love he had for Michelle and the children! He was quite Special!
