Jerry Dale Weatherall, 75, moved for the final time as he entered Heaven on Tuesday, April 19, 2016.
He leaves behind his wife of 14 years, Belinda Hodge Weatherall; his daughters, Amy Cook and her husband, Eric, and Gay Bates; his son, Andrew Weatherall and his wife, Larissa; step-sons, Sean Butler and his wife, Peggy, and Adrian Butler and his wife, Allison; grandchildren, Jackson, Cameron, and Chloe Bates, Rory and Nathan Weatherall, Zachary Butler, and Matthew and Robert Butler; his brother Jimmy Weatherall and his wife, Peggy; his sister, Mary Sue Cooper and her husband, Fred. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Jack” Weatherall and Alma Lee Carpenter Pellett, and his first wife, Betty Lowe Weatherall.
Born in Longview, Jerry graduated from Longview High School in 1960 after taking a year off to care for his mother. After graduating, he began a 20 year career in the oil industry which was followed by another 20 years in insurance sales. However, Jerry’s life was forever changed in the early 60s when he gave his life to Jesus Christ. He began learning about his Savior through Bible study classes that he attended and taught, worship services, reading the Bible over and over again, and devouring books and commentaries that strengthened his faith and knowledge.
He became the example his children could see of Christ’s love for us by the love he showed to them. He will be forever missed, forever loved.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Lakeview Funeral Home. There will be a visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., Prior to the service.
