

Jewel Dale James was born on September 13, 1933 to Jack and Mandy Cauthen James in Brushy Mound, Texas. He attended Carthage High school. He married Carolyn Joyce Langford on May 28th, 1954 in Carthage, Texas. He and Carolyn had three Sons. He retired as a Safety Engineer for H.B. Zachary in Longview, Texas. He was a member of the Mason’s and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a member of the First Nazarene Church of Longview, Texas until he relocated to Ruston, Louisiana to live near his son. He loved fishing, hunting, RVing, gardening, and piddling in his workshop. His greatest role was that of a loving and devoted husband and father.
He was preceded in death by two sons; Gerald James and Michael James and his wife Carolyn James.
Survivors include one son, Jackie James and wife Penny of Ruston, Louisiana, sister Bobby Cockrell and husband David of Bay City, Texas; Sister Tona Lawhorn and husband Clifford of Carthage, Texas; and brother Curtis James of Bay City, Texas. He had a host of grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Services for Jewel Dale James will be held Saturday June 11, 2011 at 2:00: p.m. at the Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel.
