Joan Raye Anderson

She was born July 4, 1936 in Mt. Vernon, IL to Ralph M. Summers and Hester A. Crago Summers. Her family moved to Longview in 1948 where she graduated from Judson High School in 1954. After which, she attended Kilgore College where she was a proud 2 year Kilgore College Rangerette, graduating in 1956. Joan loved volunteering, arts & crafts, playing card games and always looking her best. Most of all she loved her family and for that she will be greatly missed and loved.

Preceded in death: Husband of 55 years Jack Douglas Anderson, her parents Ralph M. Summers and Hester A. Summers, as well as numerous brother & sister in laws as well as several nieces & nephews.

Joan is survived by her loving family: Daughter Brenda & husband Randy Horton of Rockwall,Tx, Son Michael & wife Mary Ellen Anderson of Allen,TX, Sister Lola "Butch" Vallandingham of Gladewater,Tx & niece Teri Harkrider of Longview, TX, sister-in-law Betty Wolf of Garland, TX, her 4 grandchildren Christopher Horton, Valerie & husband Bong Kang, Brian & wife Amber Horton, Mary Claire & husband Clay Rutledge and 12 great grandchildren.... and her cat Pip.

Service will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home in Longview, TX on Saturday, August 22. Visitation 1-3 PM with memorial service to follow.
