Joan Elizabeth Horton

Funeral services for Joan E. Horton, 53, of Chandler, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Longview, Texas. Joan was born September 12, 1957, in Dallas, Texas to James L. Findley, II and Lora Mae Foreman Findley. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and nurse. Joan was ordained to the ministry in January 2009.

She is preceded in death by her father, James; brother, Richard Springer; and brother-in-law Rocky Horton.

Joan is survived by her husband, Aubrey Dale Horton; sons, Daniel Mims and wife Suprena; and James Mims and wife Tammy; mother, Lora Mae Springer of Atwood, Alabama; father, Jesse Springer; step-mother, Dora Vickers both of Ore City, Texas; mother-in-law, Juanita Horton of Chandler, Texas; sisters Sarah Jean Hayes of Atmore, Alabama; Jeri Cisneros and husband Hosea of Atmore, Alabama; Jessie Bayle Brady and husband Phillip of Bryant, Arkansas; Carol Coon and husband Marion of Winnsboro, Texas; Linda Eaton and husband Tommy of Ft. Worth, Texas; Mary Whitehead and husband Fred of Longview, Texas; Margie Henderson of Springfield, Missouri; brothers, Jim Springer and wife Charla and John Springer and wife Kathy all of Little Rock, Arkansas; Joseph Springer and wife Stephanie of Germany; Wesley Springer and Eddie Springer both of Lake O’ the Pines, Texas and Donald Springer of Longview, Texas; aunts, Daphine Hilton of Mesquite, Texas; and Pauline Messer of Connersville, Indiana,; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Lakeview Funeral Home.
