From Her Grandson:

My grandma was a wonderful loving person.  She was ALWAYS nice to me.  She always had a hug and a kiss for me and my family.  She loved EVERYONE.  When she didn't think I was on the right track, she would say "what you gonna do that for son?" 

Oh I love my grandma so much.  Maybe its because she genuinely loved me so much.  She saw her oldest son in me.  I was proud to be the stand in.

Who can forget her cooking.  It was all good.  Best corn bread ever.

Grandma loved life, her family and friends.  She was content.  I'd like to be more like my grandma.

You go grandma.  I know you're up there dancing with Papa.  I miss you sorely.  I know you miss us, but you get to see your Tommy and Joe Lynn - tell 'em hi for me.

We are sorry we weren't able to attend your mom's funeral but are so glad that we were able to visit with you and see her one last time this past weekend.  I am especially grateful that I was able to spend a little time with her this last year... I have been truly blessed.  She was a beautiful lady inside and out.  My heart is warmed with memories of her sweet disposition and lovely smile. She was the epitome of being "Christ like".  Oh to even come close to following her example. Our Heavenly Father was gracious to us all to have left her here with us for so long and we know he is overjoyed at her homecoming. Janna & Jimmie, although your home will seem empty for a while, her spirit will always be there with you. You honored her life in a way few are able to do. We know that your faith and love will see you all through. Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with you and your families at this difficult time.

Jacque so good to talk with you tonight. Praying for you, as you go threw this difficult time. God is good and will help you all through all things. She is with the Lord and your dad and brother.  To the family of Mrs Joe Bill Goode, I worked for Mr. Tommie for a couple of years at LeTourneau back in the sixties when I was just a kid. I also had the good fortune of meeting your Mom several times over the years. I never knew a nicer person. I know that she is in a better place now along with Mr Tommie. Please accept my deepest sympathys.

Jacque, You have not heard from me in many years.  We graduated High School together.  I am very sorry to hear of your mothers' passing.  I lost my mother 3 years ago, I know how painful it is.  You and your family are in my prayers.  I had not seen your mother in a long time, but I remember her well.  She was a graceful, caring, and sweet lady.  May God be with you and your family. Joe Bill was truly a special lady. The times I went to Longview with Jacque and the times I visited with her when she came to Jacque and Wylie's home were fun times with lots of laughter and jokes. 
Joe Bill could make the best chocolate pie. She told me her secrets but I think she forgot to tell me something because her's always tasted so much better! Joe Bill could really cook.

Just wanted to let you all know that I am thinking and praying for all of you during this trying time. May God's grace and peace be with each of you.
I have many fond memories of both your parents, while growning up  and later as an adult. My mother and I made many trips to see them both, and then, just to see Joe Bill. I can not tell you the number of times I would go to see my mother, have to drive around the block to find her visiting Tommy and Joe Bill. I remember how Joe Bill loved to "just go" anywhere.
