John David Alaniz Jr.

John was raised in Longview, Texas, and graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1986.

He was a Manual and CNC Machinist at VW Manufacturing (formerly known as Valve Components), where he worked for more than 12 years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing pool, games, hunting, and skiing. He also enjoyed spending time with family, especially his nieces and nephew, whom he adored.

His family and friends will always remember him as a lovely person, funny, and the kind of person who would help anyone or give the shirt off his back.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Emily and Sebastian Alaniz; Petra and Ignacio Ramirez; Uncle John (Loy) Ramirez; Uncle Joe Ramirez; and Uncle Sebastian Alaniz Jr.

He leaves behind his parents, Anita and John Alaniz Sr.; one sister, Kristy Benge, and husband, Reggie Hendry; one brother, Alex James Alaniz; nieces Morgan Benge and Alyssa Alaniz; one nephew, Aston Benge; as well as numerous aunts, cousins, and uncles.

Visitation will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, TX 75604, US, on July 23, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, followed by a Prayer Service at the same location on July 23, 2026, from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will take place at St Matthew's Catholic Church, 2800 Pine Tree Rd, Longview, TX 75604, US, on July 24, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
