John Morehead

John Morehead was born in Corsicana, Texas on July 22, 1926 to W.D. & Jane Elizabeth Arden Morehead and he passed on May 14, 2015 in Longview, Texas. In 1947, he married Loneita Nell Garrison and had 3 beautiful children before her passing 35 years later. In 1980, he married Marva Pearl Morehead and enjoyed another 35 wonderful years with her.

Mr. Morehead retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He was a long-time member of New Hope Baptist Church in Ore City, Texas. He was a loving and giving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

John was preceded in death by his first wife Loneita; his grandson Brian Keith Mulkey; his parents W. D. Morehead and Jane Elizabeth Arden Morehead; and his 8 brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish his memory is his second wife, Marva; his daughters, Sandra Kaye Shelby and husband, Diane Morris and husband; his son John R. Morehead and wife; stepdaughter Diana Goode; stepson Eddie Cmakel; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends in Fort Worth and the greater East Texas area.
