She was born August 7, 1956 in Longview to Airal V. and Wyvonia Beauchamp Slatter. Kathy
spent her life caring for others, whether it was a stray dog or someone that needed a place to
stay for a little while, while getting things straightened out, she was there. She definitely
had a soft heart for those in need. She would always make sure that family members and
friends had special things for birthdays and around each holiday, and would often turn a
simple cookout into a surprise birthday party just to make someone feel special.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Dollison of Longview; daughters: Carrie Slatter of
Portland, Oregon, Ida Grammer and her husband Matt of White Oak, Jackie Perez of
Longview; sons: Daniel Miller and his wife Cara of Nederland, TX, Phillip Higginbotham of
Mabank, TX; grandchildren: Bailey, Savannah, Alex, Andrew, Secilia, Lena, Donte, Ethan,
Christian, Trinity, and Adrien; sisters: Charlotte Inzer of Longview, Bernice Stangle and her

Beverly of White Oak; as well as a number of great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins;
friends; and extended family members that she had adopted throughout the years. She is

McGilvray.
