Born on January 31, 1955, in Livonia, Michigan, Kris was the son of Archie and Eva Cairns. He was raised in Michigan, where he graduated from Clarenceville High School in 1973. Throughout his life, Kris was known for his warm heart, easy going personality, and genuine love for the people around him.
Family was the center of Kris’s world. He was a devoted father, brother, son, and friend who found his greatest happiness in spending time with those he loved. Whether sharing stories, laughing together, or simply enjoying each other’s company, Kris made every moment meaningful.
Kris had a lifelong love of sports and the outdoors. He enjoyed golf and softball and was also a fan of basketball and tennis. Some of his fondest memories were made riding motorcycles with his brother, Kalvin. He appreciated life’s simple pleasures and believed that the best days were those spent with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Eva Cairns; his grandparents, Howard and Margaret, and Archie and Flo; his brother, Keith Cairns; and his cousins, Danny, Diane, and David.
Kris is lovingly survived by his children, Tommy, Dusty, Cody, and Angie; his beloved grandchildren; his siblings, Kirk, Kalvin, Kathy, Kit, and Kerry; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we take comfort in the memories he gave us and the love he shared so freely. Kris will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, his love of sports, and, above all, the love he had for his family. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
"Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day—unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved still near and very dear."
A Simple Gathering will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, TX 75604, US, on August 8, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
