

LaWahana Mullins, age 65, passed away after a long illness Friday, February 3. 2012. She was born November 29, 1945, in Norton, Virginia. She was a member of the First Family of Virginia, being a direct descendent of the Indian princess Pocahontas. She was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, Daughters of the King, and Woodmen of the World Fraternity. She attended Pine Tree High School, and Daingerfield High School and Junior High School.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Ellis I. and E. Geneva Mullins. She is survived by her brother, Kedrick Mullins; sister-in-law, Alicia H. Mullins, and nephews Michael and David Mullins of San Antonio, Texas; Patrick Mullins of New York City, and Christopher Mullins of San Marcos, Texas, and niece Deirdre Mullins of Longview, Texas. The family wishes to express its profound gratitude to daughter, Deirdre, who took such beautiful care of her Aunt LaWahana as well as of her grandmother, Geneva Mullins, with help from brother Michael Mullins before she passed away in December 2006. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Gregg Home for the Aged in Kilgore, members of St. Michael and All Angels, and family and friends who have shown her their love and support over the years.
Pallbearers will be Michael Mullins, David Mullins, Patrick Mullins, Christopher Mullins, and Tye Jones.
Viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 W. Harrison Road in Longview. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church on Reel Road in Longview.
