I’ll never forget all the special times spent with Mamaw and Papaw, be it at holidays, family get togethers or for me it was before and after school as well. They were the absolute best grandparents anyone could ask for. Mamaw always had a smile and spoke with such a sweet spirit. She worked the evening shift at the hospital and would be getting off of work as we were getting ready for school. Although she was tired she’d always smile and say “ I’m going to bed now to get my beauty sleep!” We’d laugh and she would head to bed. I will cherish all of our special times together, then and in the past year. I will strive to be the best grandmother for I had an excellent one to look up to. I love you Mamaw, please tell Papaw hello for me and all of those that have gone before you.

Before I would leave from my visits with Mother at the Memory Care Center, she would ask me to take her home (meaning her child hood home in Elkhart). We will take her home this Friday. I know she is happy and at peace with that.

Wallace and Joann were always so good about coming to visit my mom, (Joann's Aunt Jewel) after she moved to Lavon to be near us. Their visits meant so much to her. They enjoyed talking about "old times", relatives, Elkhart, and about Wallace and Joann's travels and adventures. I especially enjoyed having them at the little "cousins' reunion" at my house several years ago when Judy Jenkins Baron, Earl Elton Jenkins, and Robert Jenkins were all there. All my first cousins together at once! And a few of our family members, too. I know Joann loved Jesus and enjoyed serving Him for many years. Our prayers for all her family.
