Maryann Toarmina

Maryann was raised in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from Rosati-Kain Academy High School in St. Louis, Missouri in 1956. She married Charles C. Toarmina in 1956 and the couple had 5 children. While raising her children and taking care of the family home, she also provided part-time administrative support for a family operated business for many years.

Maryann enjoyed drawing and fishing as a youth. As an adult, she was an avid reader. Over time, favorite television shows replaced novels. Very intelligent, she was excellent at crossword puzzles, Scrabble, as well as playing cards and other games with family. Her strong writing skills made her the family historian, detailing each of her children’s life events and activities on her calendars and steno pads, as well as being the primary photographer for many years. Later in life, as a great conversationalist, interested in the lives of loved ones, she spent many hours chatting on phone calls. She liked to travel with her children and was very involved in their lives. When grandchildren came, she was supportive and nurturing. She felt great joy in seeing her great grandchildren, too. She had a love of a variety of music, and many hours were spent listening to her favorite artists during visits with her daughter.

Her family, friends and caregivers will always remember her as loving, loyal, funny, and smart. Over the years, she became a very strong person facing much adversity and loss. She maintained her faith throughout. She was a self-sacrificial person who loved unconditionally and modeled forgiveness. Her smile lit up a room, and she endeared and inspired all who got to know her and admired her fun, feisty spirit.

She is preceded in death by: parents Mary & Earl Fehlig; husband, Charles C. Toarmina; children: Mary Louise Toarmina, Ross Toarmina, David Toarmina; sister Eugenia “Genie” Villegas; son-in-law Alan Eisenberg.

She is survived by: daughters Dolores Eisenberg, and Laura Mattheis and husband Vern; grandchildren & great grandchildren Adam Delaune and his children; Tony Delaune and wife Natalia and their children; Brittany McCloskey and husband Ryan and their children; Hannah Cicardo and husband Cortland and their child; Vince Toarmina and Nick Toarmina; sister Kathy Ackermann and her husband Larry, and their children; Maryann’s nephews Jim & Mike and their families, niece Ginny and family, and nephew Joe Villegas; daughter-in-law Noreen Toarmina and husband Phil, along with numerous other relatives from both sides of the family.

Above all, she strived to be a good, loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother - and she was.

Visitation will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, TX 75604, US, on August 7, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will take place at Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, TX 75604, US, on August 7, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm, with a committal in the Original Lakeview Mausoleum to follow.
