A graveside service will be held for Mellie Louise Newman at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 24, 2011, with the Rev. Jake Wormer officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation at Lakeview Funeral Home Sunday, October 23, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Mellie Louise Newman of Hunt Texas, was born October 1, 1922 in Saratoga, Texas, to John R. Davis and Lilly Brown Davis, and passed away October 20, 2011 in Terrell, Texas. During the course of her career, Mellie worked as a registered nurse, a beautician and a realtor.
Among those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Pat Davis and husband Don; Linda Putnam; granddaughters , Vikki Greenhill; Kris Modisette and husband Allen; and Donna Gillem ; grandsons, Jimmy Davis and wife Teresa; and Keith Davis and wife Shelby; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, J.R. Davis and wife Fern; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
Mrs. Newman is preceded in death by her parents John R. Davis and Lilly Brown Davis, husband J.C. Newman, and son-in-law, Donald Putnam.
