

Mildred Marcelle McFarlin Carty, 84, of Longview passed away November 19, 2015 at her residence. She was born August 11, 1931 in Cumby, Texas to K.P. and Geraldine Phillips McFarlin. She married Billy Joe Carty December 24, 1946 in Greenville, TX. He preceded her in death October 8, 1987. She worked throughout her life including for Texas National Bank as a customer service representative and for LISD as a cafeteria worker. She loved to care for her family and to cook for them. She would make everyones favorite from her best chocolate and coconut crème pies and even enchiladas. She was known to go out of her way to help those in need.
She is survived by her daughters: Teresa Andrews and Jeri Huffman; son: Bob Carty and his wife Laura all of Longview; grandchildren: Julie Callaway and her husband Ramon of Colorado Springs, Jill Franklin, Amanda Carty, Justin Carty all of Longview, and Jessica Carty of Texarkana; great grandchildren: Kade Franklin, Madilyn Franklin, Brayden Carty, Bentley Carty, Anaya Carty, and Emerie Carty all of Longview; sisters: Robbie Nell Hiltzman of White Oak, Kathie Debaca and her husband Billy of Longview, and Carol Ann Gillard and her husband Roger of Mission, TX; brother: Kevin McFarlin and his wife Debbie of White Oak; her special friend: Fern Palmer; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son: Kenneth Carty; and grandson: Jared Huffman.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Lakeview Funeral Home with funeral services to be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home with interment to follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, with Charles Hunt officiating.
