

A time of visitation with his family for Monroe will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Lakeview Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, Texas 75604. A celebration of his life will occur Friday, January 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
Monroe Luman was born March 8, 1934 and passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Tenaha, Texas to Leroy and Louise Andrews Luman. He graduated from Kirbyville High School in 1952.
He had many loves in his life including his life long career of driving a truck that he retired from in 1996. He loved hooking up to his camper and traveling. But most of all, he loved “The Hunt”. He loved family game night with his kids, grands and great grands especially playing Aggravation. He loved nascar and collecting hats. He loved his church and all of the people at Fellowship Baptist Church. He had 50+ years as a member of Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and Scottish Rite.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Robert, Ray and H.L., 1 sister, Maxine and son in law Ronnie McCracken. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Donna McCracken and son, Pete Luman. Grandchildren Terri (Chad) Smith, Beverly (Jason) Ingalls, Krista Flanagan, Christopher (Whitney) Luman, Dustin Luman, Madison Luman (Lucas) and Ronald (Candi) McCracken. 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter with another sweet girl due in June, 2 sisters, Polly Fountain and Christene Tramel and 1 brother, Rick Luman.
