Nancy Ruth Duke

Nancy Ruth Sparks Duke 88, went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 21, 2025. A long time active member of Greggton Global Methodist Church she dearly loved her church family, friends and helping those in the community. Most of all Nancy loved her savior Jesus Christ and looked forward to that day when they would meet face to face.

Nancy was born February 25, 1937 to Sanford and Floy Sparks of Hallsville, Texas and was one of 7 children. During Nancy's high school years in Houston she worked for Neman Marcus organizing display windows. Moving on in her life's career she began working at Shell Oil company where she spent 31 years and moved through the ranks to become Drafting Supervisor manager. Upon retirement, Nancy returned to Longview and became an active member in The Pilot Club. She also helped with the American Cancer Society "Reach for Recovery" as well as helped start the "Unforgettable Tuesday Club" that helps with Alzheimer patients which she oversaw for 18 years.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. She leaves behind a sister Jane Tarver of Longview, several nieces & nephews as well as many great nieces & nephews.

The family would like to thank Chambers Hospice for their care and compassion, The Pilot Club, Greggton Global Methodist Church, and the many friends for their prayers and support given during this time.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday July 12, 2025 at Lakeview Funeral Home followed by A Celebration of Life at Mobberly Baptist Church.
