Pearl R. McIver

Pearl McIver, age 76 of Longview, passed away Tuesday in Houston. Pearl was born on March 12, 1934 in Port Allen, Louisiana to Henry Gravois and Emily Melancon Gravois.

Pearl was a homemaker, a faithful member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and of her local neighborhood watch. She is survived by her sons Hal McIver and his wife Tammie, Carl McIver and his wife Janet, daughters Mary Gwynne and her husband Andrew, Karen Newsome and her husband Bruce. She is also survived by sisters Gerry Waguespack, Ethel Pourciau and her husband Ray, Barbara Jeanfreau and her husband James, brother Roland Gravois and his wife Carmen, grandchildren Wesley, Dylan, Savannah and Cassidy McIver, Emily and Drew Gwynne, Victoria and Kendall Newsome, and step-grandchildren John and Daniel Beard.

She is preceded in death by her husband Leroy McIver, her parents, sister Adrienne Brazan and brothers Lloyd, H.J., and Frank Gravois. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church or a charity of your choice.
