

Richard Dale Estes, 87 of Diana, Texas went to be with his Lord on 23 March surrounded by his loving family at his home. Dale was born in Peacock, Texas on November 1st 1935 to Fred and Lola (Simpson) Estes.
A time of visitation for Richard will be held Monday, March 27, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lakeview Funeral Home, 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, Texas 75604. A celebration of his life will occur Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Monty Van Horn officiating at Lakeview Funeral Home.
Dale achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with the local troop of Roaring Springs, Texas and graduated from Roaring Springs in May of 1953. In May of 1954 he entered the United States Marine Corps. He married LaRece Lawrence on March 3rd 1956. He was honorably discharged on May 25th, 1956. Dale worked for the Lubbock City police for twelve years before moving to Diana, Texas in 1969. Dale spent the next forty years working in the oil fields with the last twenty plus years working for Bass Engineering, from which he retired on or about 2006. Dale always loved fishing, gardening and jigsaw puzzles.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife LaRece, his parents Fred and Lola and his stepmother Thena Walker Estes; his step sister Clydeen Peterson Hall, his sister Freda Estes Mitchell and several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his sister Shirley Estes Durant in Arroyo Grande California, two brothers, Robert “Bob” Estes (Sally) of Harker Heights Texas, James of San Antonio Texas; his children, Margie Estes Bellomy, Richard Estes II (Teresa), Robert Estes all of Diana and daughter Tammy Estes Van Horn (Monty) of Gatesville, Texas. Thirteen grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are: Zack Reddick, Brian Bellomy, John Bellomy, Adam Van Horn, Thad Van Horn, Jeff Estes and Justin Pate.
