Richard was born on July 30, 1936 in El Reno, Oklahoma to George and Clara Lee Rosson. He was a long time resident of Longview, Texas. He served our country for 8 years in the United States Navy as a medic. Richard graduated from Oklahoma University with a masters degree in retail and finances.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 69 years, Jacqueline Rosson. He leaves behind his daughter Donna Westmoreland and husband Jimmy Westmoreland of Gladewater, Texas; grandchildren Amy Lynn McEntire, James Westmoreland Jr., and Rick Westmoreland; great-grandchildren Emma Delaney Hayes, Brianna Westmoreland, Conner Westmoreland, Hunter Westmoreland, Kelley Westmoreland, and Caden Westmoreland and a host of other cousins, nephews, family, and friends
Richard was an honorable Navy Sailor, husband, father and friend. He will be greatly missed.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday January 12, 2024 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview, Texas.
