Rose C. Reeves, 90, of Longview, TX was born August 7, 1931 in Atkins, Arkansas, and passed away July 28, 2022. Rose was the glue to the family! She was gracious, compassionate, loving, and the most unselfish woman. Raised in a home of ten siblings, she only thought of others and their wellbeing. Rose was a devoted housewife. Her home was filled with warmth, love, cleanliness (the best she could with a home filled with three boys and a husband), and home cooked meals. You haven’t had a real meal until you walked in the door to a hot bowl of her stew and cornbread. If that wasn’t enough, she always had a candy bowl filled, and baked goods or sweets on top of the microwave. Children were her passion! She provided childcare at her local church. She was a member of St Anthony Catholic Church, as well as the Catholic Daughters of America, where she actively participated into her 80s. She never missed a beat ensuring her grandchildren had all they ever needed or imagined. From love, to best meals, to garage sale shopped clothing (she loved garage sales), to a home filled with holiday spirit, Rose loved caring for her grandchildren every way she could. As mentioned, Rose was the family glue.
Rose is preceded in death by her husband John R. Reeves. She is survived by her sister, Rita Montgomery; her children, Gary Reeves and wife Monica, Glenn Reeves, and Greg Reeves and wife Linda; grandchildren Elyse Hibbits and husband William, Brett Reeves and wife Kami, Alexandria Chavez and husband Richard, Alyssa Cuellar, Karah Reeves, and Tyler Reeves; great grandchildren, Madilynn Hibbits, Jaxson Lassley, Jaelynn Lassley, and Grayson Irvine.
Services will be Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 10am at Lakeview Memorial Gardens (5000 W Harrison Road, Longview, TX 75604).
Serving as pallbearers will be her six grandchildren.
