We roped together a lot in the 80's at T-Bones. Russell was a good friend to everyone. I never met anyone who did not respect Russell. A lot of good times were shared on Saturday night at Wheelers in Tyler roping. Our kids were little and we all enjoyed being together. I hope and pray his peace is eternal .

Kathy...I was so fortunate to have Russell as a mentor and friend. Through his examples, I learned about being a fair, unbiased and compassionate investigator. It was Russell that help open the doors for me in the Gregg County District Attorney's Office and I will never forget how he help me be a better investigator. I hope you can find comfort in your family and friends. Russell will be missed, but he will always be in my heart and mind. Thank you for sharing him with me.

To Russell's Family
I can easily remember the three years Russell, Tommy Potts and I (Bill Griffin) went to school together, were teenagers in the greatest time the world has ever seen! All the dances in Commerce that no one knew we were at. We always had a lot of fun.
Thought of you a lot through the years. We are all getting older. Just wish I could have gotten together with you Tommy and I again.
We all have to pass through the vale someday. So I'll see you then my good friend.
