Memorial services for Shirley Ann Simmons, 69, of Gladewater, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Clarksville City Baptist Church, with Rev. Roger Gauge officiating. Mrs. Simmons was born December 14, 1945, in Longview, Texas, to Irvin Leroy and Charlotte Lillie Warlick Gentry, and passed away November 2, 2015 in Gladewater, Texas. Shirley was a home maker and was taught how to cook by standing on a chair at a very young and watching her mother, from that point on she took care of her brothers and sisters.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Angie Lynn Vercher; and a brother Michael Guy Gentry. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of over 45 years, J.W. Simmons of Gladewater; children, Diana Gamel and husband John of Gladewater; Stacey Case and husband Joe of Kilgore; and Sean Simmons and wife Lisa of Gladewater; brothers, Jimmy Gentry and wife Carol of White Oak; and Joey Gentry of Aransas Pass; and sister, Judy Gentry of White Oak. Shirley also leaves behind eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
