Stephen Dwight Dicks

Stephen was born on June 6th, 1950 in Moultrie, Georgia and raised by his parents Richard and Eva Dicks. After graduating from Jamesburg High School in 1968 he enlisted in the military. Stephen joined the United States Marine Corps for several years earning the rank of Lance Corporal. Stephen was decorated several medals and was then honorably discharged. After serving with the Marine Corps Stephen pursued an education at Panola College. From there he worked for Select Energy and Heartland Express for decades after. When Stephen wasn’t working he was enjoying his favorite hobbies which included bowling, baseball, gambling, fishing, and simply enjoying television. He was quite the T.V. Buff. Stephen married Janice Lenn Satterwhite with whom he shared 50 wonderful years with raising a family and a home.

Stephen is preceded in death by his parents Eva and Richard Dicks and his granddaughter Kelsey Renee Dicks.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Janice Lenn Dicks; children Shelly Holt, Stacy Dicks, Stephen Dicks Jr. and wife Stacy Palmertree; grandchildren Richard Smith, Brianna Dicks, and Colton Dicks; siblings Judy Adams, John Dicks, Sean Dicks, sister in law Pat Southerland and husband Travis; and friends Joe Calhoun, Brad Franks, Roy Davis and wife Rebecca, Jim Beavers, and Keith Faulkner and wife Maureen.

Serving as pallbearers are his son Stephen Dicks Jr., grandsons Richard Smith and Colton Dicks; brothers; Sean Dicks and John Dicks; friend Keith Faulkner and honorary pallbearers Roy Davis and Tim Holt.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Affinity Hospice, Veterans Affairs, and all family and friends involved in bringing comfort to Stephen.

A funeral service for Stephen Dicks Sr. will be held on Friday November 17, 2023 at 2:00pm at Lakeview Funeral Home in Longview, Texas with visitation one hour prior.
