January 8, 1962 – July 8, 2019
Steven Duane Jones, 57, passed away July 8, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Steve was born January 8, 1962 in Warrensburg, Missouri to Raymond Ross Jones and Mary Lee Newman Jones. He worked as a mechanic for many years and enjoyed watching drag racing and building remote control cars and planes. One of his biggest projects was rebuilding a 1970 Cutlass. Steve was very artistic and even enjoyed drawing and doing ceramics with Carolyn. Steve was saved at FBC in Okinawa, Japan. Like Christ, he spent his life sacrificing himself for others. From fixing cars to remodeling homes, he worked hard using his talents to serve others. A man of few words, he let actions do all the talking. He loved his family and cherished his grandchildren. The greatest title he ever held was being named Poppo. Steve was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Donald Jones. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Jones; daughter, Andrea Broughton (Josh); son, Adam Jones; mother, Mary Lee Jones; brother, Darrell Jones (Michelle); grandchildren, Chloe Jones, Madilynn Jones, and Eli Broughton; and many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends who loved him dearly.

Steve was my brother-in-law. He was a very tough man to go through the devastating illness he went through. He had a very caring heart and always enjoyed helping others before himself. Gone way too soon. He will be sorely missed.

Steve is one of the nicest, kindest men I have ever known. He is a true gentleman.
Steve and his lovely wife Carolyn have been wonderful friends and neighbors these many years. Heaven gained a precious soul on Monday. God bless Carolyn, his two children, his son-in-law, and three grandchildren. They were his heart. ❤️
