Born on April 8, 1960, Teri was the youngest of four children born to Charles Ray Lacy (1931–1998) and Barbara Ann Maloney Lacy (1933–2025).
The family moved multiple times but primarily resided in Kilgore and Longview, Texas, where they purchased and expanded McLendon Cleaners over more than 20 years.
After graduating from Kilgore High School in 1978, Teri served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida. Following the birth of her son, Shannon Lacy, in July 1987, she moved back to Longview to be closer to family and help manage the cleaners.
In 2005, she moved to Tyler with her sister Cindy and frequently attended Grace Baptist Church, led by Brother Dan Cozart, where they found great kinship and a loving community within the church family.
In 2009, she moved to Orlando, Florida, and attended the Notter School of Pastry Arts, earning her diploma in 2010. She returned to Tyler in 2015 to reconnect with friends and family.
After her sister Cindy passed away in 2020, she relocated to Longview to help care for her mother, Barbara, until her passing in August 2025.
Her sister Nancy preceded her in death in January 2026.
Teri loved peacocks, reading, and, above all, spending time with friends and family. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her brother, Steve Lacy; her son, Shannon Lacy; her niece, Erin Gilstrap; her nephews, Chris Gilstrap, Brad Lacy, and Matt Lacy; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
