Travis is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, his son, David and wife Martha, and his daughter, Angelia, as well as his remaining brother, Jerry and his wife Jan. He had one granddaughter, Lauren and husband Nic, and one grandson, Cameron. He also had numerous nieces and nephews.
Travis was born March 8, 1938, to Henry and Lillie Stanley. He was graduated from Gladewater High School in 1956, and enlisted in the Marine Corps one year later. When his military service was complete, he began a career in finance.
After achieving success in that field, he launched an equally successful career as an entrepreneur, starting several businesses. He served on the board of directors at a local bank, and developed a course for his fellow church members who were experiencing financial difficulties to help them navigate their way to freedom from debt. Many of the principals in its handbook were passed down from his mother's experience surviving the Great Depression; its title was "Mama's Money."
His childhood nickname was "Jitters," and he would ask that you remember one defining thought: if you see someone in trouble, take the trouble to try to help, anytime, everytime!
Rest in peace, Jitters...
