Vernon Roberts

Vernon was known for his faith in God. He made sure that he taught all of his children to pray and trust God. He was an outstanding musician, playing his guitar for friends, family and church. He worked as a building contractor and carpenter for many years.

Vernon is survived by his wife Willia Roberts, daughter Phyllis Millburn and her husband Michael, son Stanley Vernon Roberts and wife Melocka, daughter Jackie Modisette and her husband Dennis, son Joel Sayre and his wife Brenda, daughter Nique Hester and her husband Scot, and son Charles B. Roberts, 15 grandchildren Skyler, Jessica, Zach, Tyra, Joshua, Emmaly, Angela, Krista, Jeffery, Brandon, Stanley, Cody, Tommy, Orion, and Melody and 8 great grandchildren, Noah, Eli, Kylee, Bailee, Kinslee, Beyanna, Harmony, Anyia, sister Evelyn M. Nelson and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel with Mickey Baggs officiating. The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Wednesday, April 27 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
