Amilia Argomaniz Manzano, also known as Maria Auxilio "Chilo" Argomaniz Pinedo, 96 years old, of Los Angeles, CA., passed away on August 30, 2026, peacefully at the North Residential Home in North Hollywood, CA.
Born on November 16, 1929 in Indio, CA., to Fidel Argomaniz and Florencia Pinedo. Amilia lived a full life and she lived it the way she wanted. She was raised in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, before coming to Los Angeles, CA. and eventually found work at Price Pfister in Lincoln Heights. Here is where she met her husband Gilbert Manzano. Price Pfister moved to Pacoima, CA. where she continued to work for over 45 years and finally retired.
On her spare time she would sell Stanley Products, knit, and travel. She always enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and loved them very much.
She was known to dress up for every occasion, put her make up on, made sure she had her jewelry on, hair made up, wear only skirts; no pants, loved to dance at the family parties, and her warmth brought joy to everyone around her.
Amilia, a self sufficient woman, had always made minimum wage but managed to be a successful single mother. Times were always tough in her household but was able to focus, handle the stresses in life, and be a strong woman. She was always loving, caring, but especially giving. She will be missed.
She is survived by her only living son, Robert Manzano, over 45 grandchildren and great grandchildren, and three sisters, Theresa Zepeda, Alicia Sanchez, and Carolina Cervantes. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gilbert Manzano, daughter Florence Perez, and sons Gilbert Manzano Jr. and Carlos Manzano, along with her siblings Antonio Argomaniz, Arturo Argomaniz, Emma Argomaniz, Lucita Cervantes, and Socorro Davish.
