Arletta N. Tronstein, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Los Angeles, California, on July 1, 2026 surrounded by family.
Born on May 31, 1935, in West Virgina, Arletta lived a life defined by a deep devotion to family and a genuinely kind heart. Arletta had an incredible work ethic and a natural charisma and elegance that inspired those around her. She attended Redlands High School, where she was valedictorian of her class. Instead of attending college, she chose to marry and dedicate her life to building a family in Los Angeles. Alongside raising her children, she took great pride in her work and passionately cultivated her personal interests. Guided by a tremendous internal compass rooted in faith and perseverance, she was deeply committed to instilling those same values in her family.
She loved to play bridge, tennis, and later a little golf with friends. She was passionate about real estate, enjoyed the arts, played the piano, and had a knack for interior design. As an animal lover, she always had a little dog by her side. A dedicated philanthropist, she left a lasting impact through her support of numerous charitable causes. Above all, she was a devoted wife, cherished mother, proud grandmother, and delighted great-grandmother whose greatest joy came from the family she lovingly nurtured.
Arletta is survived by her beloved husband of 25 years, Mark Buchman. Her legacy lives on through her children and their families: her daughter, Kim (Gentile) Gassner, and her children, Molly (Ryan) and Cory; her son, Mark Tronstein (Natasha), and their children, James, Ashley, and Will; and her daughter, Jennifer Tronstein (Tommy Morales), and their children, Siena and Michael. She is also survived by her two great-grandchildren, Maisie and Karsun, who are the children of Molly and Ryan. In addition, she leaves behind Mark’s daughters, Romy (Buchman) Coquillette, Jennifer Buchman, and their extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Tronstein, and her son, Kevin Gentile.
Arletta will be remembered for her immense strength, her deep faith, and a magnetic presence that brought joy to everyone around her. Her vibrant spirit and unwavering devotion will always be a source of comfort to those who loved her.
A private family service will be held to celebrate Arletta’s life.
