OBITUARY

Arthur Love

October 14, 1989January 26, 2020

Arthur Love was born on October 14, 1989 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a dedicated son to his mother, Vicki Love & Torquil Olson, and brother, Ted Olson. Since his childhood, Arthur roamed his neighborhood and school hallways with his mother’s camcorder at hand and an infinite passion for filmmaking in his heart. Following his graduation from Durango High School at 18 years old, Arthur moved to New Mexico, where he began working in the film industry as a DIT/Camera Assistant.

In 2009, he moved to Los Angeles and enrolled at The Los Angeles Film School. Arthur gifted his talents as a Cinematographer to over 10 short films within his two-year program. However, his true personal achievement during that time was the meeting of his producer, Jessica Goldenberg. Their creative collaboration immediately blossomed into love; the two married on November 10, 2011. In October of 2019, they were blessed with news that a baby girl would be welcomed into their family in May. Arthur’s unwavering excitement for his wife and child beamed brightly through the gleam in his eyes and his contagious smile. They would always be his greatest accomplishment, passion, and love.

Arthur truly adored all aspects of cinematography. He had an enthusiasm for the technicalities and how to push the already broad scope of filmmaking. Arthur was given the wonderful opportunity to further his career when he was sworn into IATSE Local 728 on August 1, 2014. He provided his expertise as a technician and lighting console programmer on various projects and television shows.

Many wonderful attributes and qualities resonated within Arthur. He was kind, patient, loyal, effortlessly hilarious, assertive, creative, and extremely proud! Arthur expressed deep pride in the many adventures he experienced within his thirty years. Many discussions began with his profound love for all things Chicago. He would always cheer for the Blackhawks in his Patrick Kane jersey. The Cubs were his favorite baseball team. A hunger would erupt when he described deep dish pizzas. He cherished the city in which he was born.

Music brought great joy to Arthur. When his hands weren’t occupied with a camera, his fingers would be strumming the strings of a guitar; and if he wasn’t wearing Kane’s jersey, he had on The Who’s T-Shirt. Had he been given the opportunity, Arthur Love would have become the fifth member of the legendary band.

Arthur Love had many talents from lighting sets to taking photos; however, they were only surpassed by his true gift, his illuminating personality that captivated anyone that was blessed to know him.

I never got to meet Arthur but his Mother Vicki would send Christmas cards of her, Arthur and Ted so I could see her handsome sons each year! Whenever Vicki and I spent time together she would delight in telling me about her sons that she loves so much! I did have the pleasure of meeting Ted this year and his lovely girlfriend Dani. I learned so many beautiful things today at the Celebration of Life for Arthur and I wish I could of met him but grateful for all the precious memories of his life that were shared today. I send all my LOVE & PRAYERS to ALL THE FAMILY & may God hold you close to him for strength & comfort and help you through these very difficult days. Love, Valerie

I remember Arthur from Durango he was always captured in his camera or something that had to do with making a movie or wanting to make a movie.
My condolences go out to his wife and daughter, his brother Ted , and mother Vicki.
Such a tragedy so young!! I can’t imagine how his Mother, brother and his whole family are coping with this.
I’m sure with his short life he has left a legacy of his own behind. Something that people can admire and learn from him for.
Best wishes;
Chuck Boucher Rosemary Ennis’s son.😇🙏
