May 31, 1954 – July 14, 2025
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Charles Lucero, who left us peacefully on July 14, 2025, in Los Angeles, at the age of 71.
Born in Denver, Colorado, Charles was the beloved son of Richard and Connie Lucero. At the age of six, he and his family moved to Los Angeles, where he would spend the rest of his life building deep roots, strong relationships, and countless memories.
Charles was a devoted son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He proudly served the City of Los Angeles as a driver for **over 17 years**, earning the respect and admiration of coworkers and community members alike.
He was known for his big heart, quick wit, and a sense of humor that could light up any room. Charles had a natural gift for making people laugh—whether with a funny story, a clever comeback, or a perfectly timed one-liner. He was deeply loved by many and surrounded throughout his life by loyal, lifelong friends.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures: grilling in the backyard, sipping a cold Coors Light, and letting his favorite music fill the air. He also loved gazing up at the skies—finding peace in the clouds, the stars, and the quiet beauty above. In recent years, he lovingly cared for his mother, Connie, showing once again his deep loyalty and compassion.
Charles is survived by:
– Three children
– Four grandchildren
– Two great-grandchildren
All who knew him will remember his warm smile, steady presence, sharp humor, and the wisdom he shared so generously. He believed in showing up for those he loved—and he did, time and time again.
A memorial gathering will be held on:
Date: August 9, 2025
Location: 2814 N Broadway, Los Angeles, CA
Time: 4 PM
Please join us in celebrating the life of a man who gave so much, asked for little, and left a lasting mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.
Someone once said,
“Sunsets are our loved ones who have passed that painted the sky to tell us they will always love us”
