Emil (Emidio) Paul Cantalupo of Santa Monica, California, formerly of
Newark, New Jersey, passed away on September 9, 2021. He was 88 years old.
Born in Newark, Emil resided in Bloomfield before moving to California,
living in Santa Monica for more than forty years.
He graduated from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Elementary School and East
Side High School in Newark. Emil was a veteran of the United States Air Force,
he owned and operated several businesses: a tavern, a restaurant and a
neighborhood (in Vailsburg, Newark) convenience and liquor store, until
beginning his career in real estate. He started by selling homes in Newark and then
took his expertise to California where he was a Realtor, investor, builder and
property manager.
He concluded his career employed by the County of Los
Angeles as a real property manager. Emil was especially proud to have
volunteered as a docent of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angeles, leading tours.
Emil was preceded in death by this parents Dominic and Concetta. He is
survived by his children, son Dominic and his wife Pamela, and daughter Karen,
his grandson, Emidio, his sister Diana and her husband Randy. He is also survived
by many loving friends, cousins, nephews and grandniece, and his fiancé Kate and
her family.
He will be missed.
