A Life of Courage, Unwavering Spirit,
Humor, Devotion, and Love
My beloved mother, Guru Sharon Sharon Cook, completed her earthly journey and transitioned on Sunday, January 4th. She was surrounded by family, held in love, and carried by prayer.
Sharon was a woman of extraordinary courage, fortitude, and strength. What she lived through was unimaginable, and yet she met each chapter of her life with faith, heart, extraordinary resilience, and unbreakable will. She refused to be diminished by what she faced. Impeccable in all that she did, she lived to the beat of her own drum.
To those who knew her, Sharon was deeply devoted, kind, and loving. She was protective by nature and generous by heart. She was giving, open, and sincere, with a beautiful soul and a deeply spiritual nature. She had a beautiful sense of humor that brought lightness and intelligence into every space she entered—quick, perceptive, and unmistakably hers. She loved to laugh, and she made others laugh easily. Her humor was one of her great gifts, and even in her final days, she was making us laugh.
Sharon was not only a devoted mother, but a profound teacher through the way she lived. Her life was an embodiment of perseverance. She was strong, feisty, loving, and real. She met life with steadfast strength and nobility, even in the most difficult moments.
She also had a deep relationship with breath, with life itself. Her daily motto was:
“I am the Light of God shining with every breath.”
Being with Sharon in her final days and witnessing her transition was one of the most sacred experiences of our lives. Her passing was gentle, luminous, and filled with peace. Those of us who were with her felt, unmistakably, that she was being lovingly guided home. There was a palpable sense of grace, beauty, and pure love in her departure.
In ways that left both family and medical professionals in awe, Sharon continued to express her life force even at the threshold. Her strength, spirit, and presence remained radiant, reminding us that life is far greater than the physical body.
In both the Sikh and Tibetan traditions, death is understood not as an ending, but as a transition—a return to the Infinite. Sharon’s life and passing reflected this truth. Sharon lived with depth, sincerity, joy, and heart. Through everything she endured, her spirit remained intact. Her journey was one of integrity, and her soul now rests in the vastness from which it came.
As Guru Nanak teaches:
“Nanak Naam Milai Ta Jeevai.”
When one meets the Naam, one truly lives.
Sharon Cook will be remembered for her devotion, her protective nature, her enduring humor, her fun-loving spirit, her generosity, and the profound love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, courage, laughter, and radiant brilliance that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her.
May her journey into the Infinite be swift and protected.
May her soul be held in eternal peace.
May her love continue to guide and bless us.
