Judith Ellen Garton, age 75, died at Genesis Health Care in Playa Del Rey, California, on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Born June 14, 1940, in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, she lived in Santa Monica, California. Judi worked as a registered nurse in Pennsylvania and California for over 40 years before retiring from UCLA Santa Monica. Judi was a member of Santa Monica Sister Cities Association and served on the Board of Directors. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Pi Sorority. Throughout her life she traveled extensively, making many friends here and around the world. Survivors include her sister Jean Smith, of Redlands, California, Nephews, Kevin Garton, of Westminster, California, Shawn Smith, of Los Angeles, California, and Niece, Melanie Allen, of Victorvile, California. Judi is preceded in death by her parents, David and Helen Garton. Brother, Leslie Garton, and Nephew, James (Brent) Smith.
