Keith Stephen Weinstein of Los Angeles, California, passed at home while surrounded by his family on the first night of Hanukkah. It is no surprise that his death coincided with the welcoming of this Jewish holiday. “From the mohel to the soil,” he once said in his typical witty manner.
Keith began his lifelong career alongside his father, Ruben, at PM refining. He continued down this path when he opened his own business, Precious Metals West/Fine Gold, in 1982. The business is a pillar of the jewelry community to this day.
Keith was instrumental in advancing the niche that was his field. Ultimately, his ingenuity led to the development of state-of-the-art products, techniques, and forums that shaped the jewelry industry for many years to come. For that, he will always be known as an innovator, a go-getter, and a luminary.
Keith enjoyed the simple pleasures life had to offer. Nothing made him happier than spending a night in with his family – watching an old television show or film, indulging his tastes.
As many of you know, to know him was to love him. He was truly a blessing in the many lives he touched; he had a heart of pure gold.
He is survived by his wife, Mercedes, and two children, Cheyenne and Wolf.
Private services will be held in his honor.
