Mariela Montoya Agudelo
June 22, 1930 – November 3, 2019
MARIELA MONTOYA AGUDELO , passed away on November 3, 2019 at the age of 89 at The Good Shepherd Health Care Center in Santa Monica, California Where she resided happily and was very loved and well taken care of for almost 20 years. Mariela was born to Clementina Jaramillo Montoya and Luis Montoya on June 22, 1930 in Pereira, Colombia South America.
Mariela is survived by her Children: Maria Eugenia Agudelo Richwine, Fred Agudelo (Maru Agudelo), Gustavo Montoya. Grandchildren: Quincy Scott Bouldin, Melissa Marie Buglione, Monica Renee Agudelo, Ana Maria Montoya-Sanchez, Freddy Alberto Montoya-Parra. Great Grandchildren: Tanner Bayne Buglinoe, Stephania Montoya, Diego Alberto Sanchez, Camila Sanchez, Camila Montoya Rios, Juan Jose' Cruz Montoya, Valeria Cruz Montoya, Mariana Aponte Montoya.
Mariela came to the United States with her children Maria, Fred and their father Jay Agudelo in 1960, arriving in New York City where they lived for a few years before making the trip across country to Los Angeles, California where she once again adjusted beautifully to her new surroundings.
Mariela was a very loving woman who found joy in everything she did. She gladly sacrificed so much in this life to devote herself to her family and help others whenever she could. When her children got older, Mariela became a volunteer at The Braille Institute of Los Angeles where she selflessly gave her time to help those who were experiencing vision loss and blindness. Mariela loved music, dance, fashion, art. She always had a sense of style was poised, feminine, graceful, elegant, compassionate - had a charming sense of humor and was gifted with her special abilities as a wife, mother, and friend. Mariela was a beautiful person inside and out and will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind. (We love you Mami)
