

Marilyn Norman, aged 90, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024, in Los Angeles, California. Born and raised in Queens, New York, Marilyn was a beacon of love and strength to all who knew her. In the late 1960s, she courageously moved her family west, establishing a new life in California, where she resided for the remainder of her years.
Marilyn was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, known for her unwavering support and kindness. She was a woman of beauty, both inside and out, and set a great example of work ethic and dedication. She worked for 31 years for her boss and friend, Dr. Wayne C. Sandler, MD, PhD. Even after her retirement at 85, patients continued to ask about Marilyn, a testament to her lasting impact.
Her family fondly remembers her as someone who never ended a call without saying, "I love you." Her passions included reading, enjoying music, Broadway musicals, Hallmark movies, and indulging in shopping, activities that brought her joy and relaxation. Marilyn's warmth and caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Kalkin-Bermont and her husband Peter Bermont; her son Scott Kalkin and his wife Susy Kalkin, along with their daughters Kristen Kalkin Soroko and her husband Peter Soroko and daughter Melissa Kalkin; predeceased son Ira Kalkin's children Laura Kalkin and Benjamin Kalkin; her son Jeff Kalkin and his children Rebecca Kalkin and Hunter Kalkin. Marilyn was predeceased by her beloved son, Ira Kalkin, and husbands Donald Kalkin and Bernard Nusbaum.
Marilyn's legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire her family and friends. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In honoring her life, the family invites those who knew Marilyn to remember her fondly and celebrate the joy she brought into the world.
