Peter Glenn Mullen died on August 24, 2026, in a single-car accident near his home in Lancaster, CA, where he resided for most of the last 20 years. Peter was born on April 11, 1957 in Long Beach, CA, and was the fourth child in a family of five children of John Edward and Mary Jane Glenn Mullen.
He is survived by his older brothers Michael, Sean, and Kevin, and his younger sister and soulmate, Mary Kate. Growing up in North Hollywood, he attended Saint Charles Catholic Elementary School and Grant High School. Peter was a proud Navy veteran serving honorably from 1975-1979.
He spent most of his time in the U.S. Navy aboard USS Sterett (CG 31), where he was a steam engineer. It was his favorite ship, and his older brother, Michael, also served in Sterett a few years later. We enjoyed those “sea stories” centered on long deployments and far-away places. Peter was a lifelong “auto mechanic." He loved cars, trucks, and aircraft. You could always find him "ringside" at the nearest air show. He was a voracious reader, particularly of those rip ‘em up novels about the west.
He is survived by his son, Matthew, his daughter, Jennifer, and his grandson, Matheson. Peter always focused on the positive and exuded an optimistic outlook with an electric smile and a contagious laugh. He loved his family and now rests in peace with his beloved mom and dad. He will be missed by family and friends alike. A memorial service with military honors will be held at the Los Angeles National Cemetery, followed by the inurnment in the columbarium courtyard.
