Raul Arce, 56, of Los Angeles, CA sadly passed away on December 30, 2023 after a long struggle with Huntington's Disease. Raul was born on November 3, 1967 and lived a full vibrant life until his mid 30's when HD symptoms began.
After graduating Abraham Lincoln High School, Raul attended Cal State Northridge where he double majored in computer science and business administration. An eager learner and hard worker that took pride in his job, he enjoyed a career working with computers. He was especially happy and proud to work at Disney Worldwide Services where he was employed for many years as a sr. systems analyst.
Raul will lovingly be remembered as a "cool", friendly and easy going person who liked being part of a team. Coming from a large family, he thrived in group activities in school and sports. He was good, humble, loyal & caring and always happy to help his teammates be it his family, friends or co-workers.
Raul is survived by his loving mother, Herminia Arce; closest brother, George, Adrian, Sergio, Robert, Oscar & Luis; sister, Cynthia and his nephews & nieces. His family assisted him throughout his lengthy illness then cared for him at his home in the end.
Although Raul never married, he was a caring passionate man yet a kid at heart. He was lucky to find love with meaningful long-term relationships. A music lover & collector, especially 80's rock, Raul was outgoing and attended many concerts and enjoyed dancing with high energy. He enjoyed being outdoors with long drives to the beach and ski trips to the mountains. Raul favored Mexican, seafood & sushi dishes and savored Starbucks Frappuccino daily. An avid movie goer, his favorites were anything Disney, Marvel and action movies. Like most computer techies, Raul was a huge gamer, compulsive on Xbox.
Raul will always be remembered as a "big time" Lakers and Kobe Bryant fan as he attended many games back then. Later, he repeatedly watched the Lakers monumental victorious win over Celtics in game 7 - 2010 NBA Finals - everyday while he was bedridden. Seeing Kobe smile would always make him smile too.
