Named after both her grandmother and Philippine hero José Rizal, Leonarda Rizalie Marfori was born on June 19, 1959, in Cebu to Matilde Antigua and Vicente Sepulveda. The youngest daughter in a large and loving family, Rizalie enjoyed a joyful childhood filled with laughter, warmth, and cherished memories.
She attended St. Theresa’s College from kindergarten through college, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. In her early adulthood, she pursued a career in public accounting in the Philippines while also helping run her family’s beloved bakery, Queen Bee. Though life in Cebu was sweet, fate had another path in store for her. What began as a pen pal friendship blossomed into a beautiful courtship with Mark. Rizalie moved to Los Angeles, and they were married on April 25, 1990. In 1997, they welcomed their daughter, Julia Marie.
After earning her Master’s degree in Taxation from California State University, Northridge, Rizalie built a distinguished 35-year career as a CPA, working at Green, Hasson & Janks and Sobul, Primes & Schenkel until her retirement.
Rizalie was a bright, kind and beautiful soul whose warmth touched everyone around her. She loved spending time with her family, baking for those she loved, and exploring Los Angeles on weekend adventures. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mark, her daughter, Julia, her siblings Alfonso, Eulie, Vicente, Bernard, and Gregorio, and many loving nieces and nephews who will forever treasure her memory.
A service & visitation will be held at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary, 1218 Glendon Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90024, US, on May 20, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
