Ruth Fisher

July 18, 1926-September 8, 2012

Ruth Franziska Fisher passed away on September 8, 2012. She was 86. Ruth was born in Oberhausen Germany to Josef Grawe and Alma Wernick Grawe on July 18, 1926. She survived wartime Germany and met the love of her life, Second Lt. Henry Fisher who was serving in the US Army Signal Corps during the post war occupation in Bad Nauheim Germany. After getting married in Germany, they settled in Wyckoff New Jersey where they raised their family. During retirement, they moved to Asheville, North Carolina.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Henry Fisher, her daughter Regina Fisher and her sister Annelise Grawe Schneider. She is survived by her daughters Joan Fisher Djang and Lisa Fisher Pool, her son Mark Joseph Fisher and her 6 grandchildren Jason ,Lindsay, Kristin, Laura, Justine and Sara.

Ruth loved traveling, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimers Association

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Pierce Brothers Mortuary, Westwood California.
