Alan Williams of Los Osos, California, passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2015, with family members at his side. He was 73. Born in Los Angeles in 1942, Alan grew up in the idyllic San Fernando Valley, playing baseball and running track, going on camping trips with a big, extended family, and learning to play the piano with incredible skill and feeling. He maintained a deep love of music throughout his life, often sharing his love with family and friends. If a piano or pipe organ was around, Alan was sure to find it, to the delight of those who got to hear him play. Alan loved travel and boating, and had many great adventures in Alaska, the Mediterranean, Chesapeake Bay, the San Juan Islands, Japan and Tahiti. He developed a lifelong love of the San Francisco Bay Area, at one time living in the City, and later spending many good times there with his wife and family. The beauty of the Golden Gate Bridge never ceased to capture his heart. Alan had a long, successful career in real estate. He was a leader, mentor, sage and friend to so many who worked with him. Throughout his life, Alan was actively involved in his community and church, as well as being a devoted fan of the arts and symphony. For the last 15 years, Alan and his wife Carol, enjoyed a full and happy life surrounded by family and friends in Los Osos.
