Ned (Edmund Lewis) Long, was born September 23, 1940, and passed on June 7, 2026, at the age of 85. Born in Illinois, he spent his childhood in Lubbock, Tx. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Engineering. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Los Angeles, where he worked for the city long enough to know engineering was not his calling. Then, as a student at the School of Architecture at UC Berkeley, he found his passion in art and sculpture. Ned is survived by his partner Nancy, with whom he shared a home in Los Osos, Ca. An exceptional artist and teacher, he leaves a legacy of brilliant work.
