

Sr., along with her older sister, Barbara Mae Williams and younger brother, Theodore Nitzel Jr.
When she was a young girl the family moved to Los Angeles where she grew up. After high school, she worked as a legal secretary. Edna was also a hostess for the USO. She met her future husband, Jack Jones, while hostessing at a USO Dance at Fort Irwin in Barstow. They married on June 27, 1957. She worked on the base after their marriage as a Safety Officer Secretary.
Edna and Jack had three children, Barbara, Debbi, and Jack Jr. After the children were born, Edna devoted her life to being a wife and mother. She kept her children busy in Scouts and 4H, where she was an active leader. She was also very involved in her church, directing the choir and many children's programs. She was a member of Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) and held several leadership positions in the local chapter and enjoyed organizing activities for the group.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Ruth Nitzel, her sister, Barbara Mae Williams and her son, Jack Jones Jr. She is survived by her husband, Jack Jones Sr., her brother Theodore Nitzel Jr., her daughters Barbara Painter and Debbi Parker, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was 87 years old at the time of her death on September 22, 2026, in Paso Robles, CA.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Edna on October 19, at 11:00 am at Templeton Presbyterian Church, 610 S. Mainstreet, Templeton, CA, with a reception to follow. The graveside service will be at Los Osos Memorial Park for family only.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warriors in honor of her and her son Jack Jones Jr.'s military service.
