On May 27, 2026, Fortunata Gabihan Ranches closed her eyes to this world and passed away peacefully, surrounded by the family she deeply cherished. Born March 28, 1927, Fortunata blessed this world for 99 years, living a beautiful and simple life anchored by unwavering faith, deep devotion, and enduring hopes for the people she loved.
Her world revolved around her family. As a devout Catholic, she made immense sacrifices to raise her children to be God-fearing, responsible, and respectable individuals. Fortunata believed with all her heart that ensuring her children finished their college educations was the key to elevating their lives, and she poured her energy into their future while finding joy in simple pleasures like sewing their clothes and teaching them how to manage a home.
Her dream for her children to elevate their lives was not just about education - it was about seeking a land of opportunity and making the journey to America.
It was her unshakeable faith and sacrifices that eventually rewarded her with a new chapter in America. For a long time, America was a wishful dream for Fortunata, and she never truly believed it would come true. The pure happiness she felt when she finally disembarked from that plane marked the realization of a lifelong journey, a testament to the full and rewarding life she built.
Though she has passed away after a long, courageous battle with illness, her enduring love and beautiful legacy live on. She is lovingly remembered and deeply mourned by her children: Magdalena, Marilou, Malynne, and Andres Cesar Jr.
She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. Raniag Bascos, Virlena Bascos, Philip Andreleto Bascos, Patricia Zulueta, Cheryl Suzanne McCabe, Shaymah Macalanggan, and Macapanton Mohd Macalanggan Jr., who will continue to honor her memory and legacy.
Her memory will further be treasured by her precious great-grandchildren: Lincoln Morrow, Rylie Morrow, Everette Morrow, Alisha Mae Rolloque, Garrick Zulueta, Gavin Zulueta, Aidan McCabe, Owen McCabe, Quinlan McCabe, and Cosette Brielle Gill Bascos.
Fortunata’s remarkable 99 years of life and her boundless love will never be forgotten.
